Will Trump Jail Opponents?

Following his conviction by a New York jury on 34 felony charges of falsifying business records last month, Fox News' Sean Hannity asked Trump a second time if he would "use the justice system to go after his political adversaries." Trump noted that although he "would have every right" to go after his opponents, the lawfare "has to stop."

As the possibility of a second term for former President Donald Trump grows more likely by the day, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) issued a dire warning to Americans: “It is unequivocal that if Donald Trump wins, we are looking at the potential dissolution of democracy in the United States of America.”

During a recent interview with New York Magazine’s Kara Swisher, she said that although it “sounds nuts,” she “wouldn’t be surprised if this guy threw me in jail.” I can’t imagine Trump actually spends much time thinking about her, but for the self-absorbed and not so smart congresswoman from New York, it’s always all about her.

“I take him at his word when he says that he’s going to round up people,” she said. “I feel like what we saw in his first presidency was an amuse-bouche to what his intentions are. He has learned from his mistakes of appointing professionals, and he will not make that mistake next time.”

The reality is that Ocasio-Cortez was just doing her part to promote the latest hoax designed to hoodwink voters into reelecting the spavined, senile, and duplicitous President Joe Biden for a second term: a Trump victory will end democracy in the U.S.

But what they are all so conspicuously omitting is that Trump had the opportunity to pursue charges against Hillary Clinton for perpetrating the Russian collusion hoax, the greatest fraud ever carried out against a U.S. presidential candidate. And he declined.

In an effort to distract from the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a personal email server throughout her tenure as secretary of state and to derail Trump’s campaign during the 2016 election, Washington attorney Marc Elias, who represented both the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, commissioned opposition research firm Fusion GPS to create the infamous Steele dossier. Nothing says election interference quite like a collection of fictional and salacious stories about one’s opponent. Elias famously laundered funds from the Clinton campaign and the DNC through his law firm, Perkins Coie, to pay Fusion for their services.

When it was revealed that Clinton, Elias, and top-ranking Obama administration officials had orchestrated the elaborate scheme, Trump chose to let it go, believing that victory was his reward. He also felt it would be unseemly to indict the wife of a former president.

Although the Russian collusion hoax pales in comparison to the two bogus impeachments, the multiple federal and state indictments, and civil lawsuits that followed, when asked by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham during a February town hall if he would be interested in “settling old scores” during a second term, Trump replied that “my revenge will be success.”

Following his conviction by a New York jury on 34 felony charges of falsifying business records last month, Fox News’ Sean Hannity asked Trump a second time if he would “use the justice system to go after his political adversaries.” Trump noted that although he “would have every right” to go after his opponents, the lawfare “has to stop.”

Trump said, “It has to stop, because otherwise, we’re not going to have a country. Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them, and it’s easy, because it’s Joe Biden and you see all the criminality, all of the money that’s going into the family and him, all of this money from China, from Russia, from Ukraine.”

“What they’re doing to me, if it’s going to continue, we’re really not going to have much of a country left. It’s really, it is weaponization. You call it lawfare, you call it — some people call it just warfare — but it is weaponization of the election,” Trump added.

The Democrats are promoting this latest canard for three reasons. First, they are accusing Trump of what they are actually doing. Second, if the Republicans had used lawfare to destroy their primary political opponent, the Democrats would seek retribution. And finally, aside from their dire warnings that Trump is a threat to democracy and that he will end their right to late-term abortions on demand, the party has nothing else to run on.

The country is a mess. The Biden administration has presided over the decline of America. The only groups who are better off since this walking corpse assumed office are criminals, illegal aliens, the transgender community, and the cartels.

Although some estimates run far higher, at least 8 million illegal immigrants have poured over our open southern border, straining the budgets and resources of cities throughout the U.S. George Soros-backed district attorneys have turned our criminal justice system on its head. Crime has spiked. Inflation driven by this administration’s reckless spending has driven consumer prices up by 20% across the board.

Biden’s outrageously stupid abrupt withdrawal from Afghanistan emboldened America’s enemies and made the world a far more dangerous place. Within months, Russian President Vladimir Putin began massing troops along the Ukrainian border to prepare for his February 2022 invasion.

Rather than considering America’s national security interests in their decision making, this administration bases its foreign policy on whatever course of action will provide the most political benefit to Biden and the Democratic Party. Its handling of the Israel-Hamas war has been shameful. As Israel fights for its very survival, this administration has been actively undermining it.

Nearly every public appearance ends in a humiliating gaffe. For example, while sharing the stage with French President Emmanuel Macron at a D-Day anniversary event last weekend, Biden’s bizarre squatting motion spawned a new dance, “Do the Biden.” Is it any wonder First Lady Jill Biden quickly flew back to Europe to join her husband for a state dinner?

AOC is mistaken. It is Biden’s first term that is an “amuse-bouche” for the Democrats’ anticipated end-game which is single-party rule in the U.S. Biden needs a second term to cement the fundamental transformation of America. And the only thing standing between the Democrats and their neo-Marxist dreams is Donald Trump.
